Nutrition and good health are natural companions. As we age, signs of poor nutrition increase. Unfortunately, it might be difficult to reverse. Therefore, it is important to start eating healthy when you are young.

Over the years, there have been many ideas presented how to structure your diet so you ensure a good state of health. Eating a healthy diet and being physically active can help you live a longer and healthier life than people who eat processed food and are sedentary.

Juicing fruits and vegetables significantly increases the nutrients your system absorbs. When you eat an apple or broccoli, a lot of the vitamins and minerals pass through your system without absorption. By changing the form of the fruit and vegetables into a juice, your system is better able to take in all the vitamins and minerals available in those items.

Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is a must. Eating vegetables and fruits provides carbohydrates, vitamins and microelements in organisms (which are very important). Nine or more daily servings of fruits and vegetables are highly recommended.

Organic is better than non-organic as studies have proven that organic fruits and vegetables are much higher in vitamins and minerals. Although often more expensive, you don’t need to eat as much to get the same amount of benefit from organic produce.

Omega-3

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in oily fish such as salmon, trout, herring, mackerel, sardines and pilchards. Omega-6 fatty acids are found in plant oils such as seeds, nuts, dark green leafy vegetables and whole grains. Fish oil is good for many illnesses, including allergies, asthma, etc., and benefits your heart as well.

Vitamins

A depletion of vitamins in the body can lead to a variety of disorders and general health problems. Vitamins compose 1% of our body and function as helpers that are essential for growth vitality and health. To conserve this energy you require certain vitamins and minerals, which can be obtained either from foods or supplements.

Vitamins found in fruits and vegetables guard against aging, cancer, heart disease, and other diseases. Again, drinking juiced fruits and vegetables every day provides an excellent source of vitamins and minerals.

Minerals

Minerals not only build your bones, but give you energy. To boost absorption of iron, iron-rich plant foods should be consumed with vitamin C supplements or foods rich in vitamin C.

Conclusion

Balance dictates that you should include a wide variety of foods to get optimum benefit from the vitamins and minerals. A diet which includes nine or more daily servings of fruits and vegetables affects our health and longevity by offering the trace nutrients and minerals our bodies need for growth, repair and the maintenance of a sound immune system. Juicing those fruits and vegetables increases the benefits you derive from them.
